Our first ‘Artist in Residence’ is London based ceramicist Talia James.
Originally a textile designer for luxury fashion brands, Talia is a ceramicist that uses colour, form and pattern to create contemporary ceramics that reflect her Moroccan heritage and training in Mashiko, Japan. Stepping away from a perfect factory produced look Talia strives to give the material and making process room to come through in the design and tell the story of how they’re made, because of this each piece is handcrafted and unique.
After spotting Talia’s work in beautiful homes we approached her and she kindly agreed to craft a limited number of her highly collectible and coveted cream Moon vases for us. Each piece is unique and has it’s own nuances, created by the reactive glaze and Talia’s own hands which impress their own narrative upon the clay. These are truly a work of art, Talia’s craftsmanship and skill speaks for itself. Indeed an object to be treasured for a lifetime.
