Bringing Heritage Back to Life: Covet Noir's Feature in Vogue Australia
Recently, design studio Covet Noir was featured in Vogue Australia, showcasing their exceptional design skills in the renovation of a 9,000 square foot home in Surrey, England. This Grade II listed mansion had lost its touch of Georgian heritage, but Covet Noir's creative directors, Maria Lindgren and Adele Lonergan, were up for the challenge of restoring its history.
Covet Noir's design philosophy is to blend classic and period styles with contemporary details, which is what the homeowners of this Georgian property desired. The designers were asked to create a statement home that showcased the grand spaces of the property while maintaining a cosy and intimate feel. To achieve this, the team reinstalled antique architectural fittings, carefully worked with heritage consultants, and selected high-quality materials.
The outcome is a traditional and luxurious home that is both modern and functional for a family of four. Oak parquet flooring, detailed plasterwork, and a unique furniture mix of contemporary, bespoke and antique pieces add to the home's grandeur. The property is infused with warm-toned and natural light, making it an ideal place to live. The lower floor of the property boasts high ceilings in all the living areas, while the first floor is cosier, housing the seven bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Covet Noir paid special attention to the master suite, designing a bespoke decorative plaster ceiling to add grandeur without overwhelming the room with a chandelier. This is just one example of the designers' commitment to quality and timelessness in their work.
We at Aesthete are proud that Covet Noir handpicked high-quality alabaster and marble pieces of ours to included in their project
The beauty of marble and alabaster is that they add a touch of timelessness to any interior design project. Unlike trendy materials that may fall out of fashion, marble and alabaster are always in style. They are versatile and can be used in a variety of ways, from flooring to countertops, and from furniture to lighting fixtures. In this home, the alabaster and marble pieces are a perfect example of how these materials can elevate a space, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication to an already beautiful home.
It's a dream-like feeling to witness our pieces to become a part of such magnificent homes. We are eager to see what the next chapter of Covet Noir's exceptional design journey will unfold.
